A cozy winter snack?
That is ‘Smore’ like it!
The nights are drawing in and it feels like it’s time to adjust your SAD lamp and warm up the credit card for the next holiday! There is however one silver fur lining to this land of perpetual winter…and I’m not talking about wearing a onesie to work. Cozy dates!
As a serial dater the most frequent question I’m asked is, where is the best place to take a date? My answer has always been what is your date like? There is no point taking a muscle bound gym boy with a GCSE in weightlifting to the opera or persusing that wimpy boy with the beard from accounts to check out Mexican midget wrestling …I speak from experience there.
Although there is something about skating around an ice rink or sitting by a big log fire wrapped in blankets that gets my inner romantic going or perhaps it is just a strong dislike of being cold. Either way Wig Wam Bam hits the spot. The latest offering from the very fashionable Queen of Hoxton combines the festival chic of a WigWam with fairly lights and  wooden huts of an alpine ski lodge, all on a rooftop - far above the hustle and bustle of a chilly Liverpool Street.

As I huddled around one of the numerous firepits ,sipping my mould wine, nuzzling my latest squeeze whilst toasting marshmallows sandwiched between rich tea biscuits (narrowly avoiding a diabetic coma) I got to thinking… perhaps winter isn’t so bad after all….but next time I’ll bring my snowboots.
Check out Queen of Hoxton for your slice of the winter action, Friday 26th of October 2012 to end of March 2013, 1-5 Curtain Rd, London EC2A 3JX, entrance free.
